The Sugar Shack
The Fall 2012 WHUS Training Class starts with a no-obligation informational meeting at 8PM on Monday, September 10th in Castleman 212.
The class covers technical, aesthetic, and legal aspects of radio; everything you need to host your own show on WHUS; enough to get you started on a career in broadcasting, if that's your dream.
In addition to classroom material, trainees will undergo mentoring with an on-air DJ, and will also attend labs in which they'll receive hands-on training on our digital audio production equipment.
It sounds like a lot, but it's fun and easy. You'll be done before final exams.
WHUS airs an incredibly wide variety of programming. Everything from alternative genres of music; public affairs and news shows; talk shows; occasional radio theater; and, of course, tons and tons of UCONN sports. You can get involved in any of this, or you can carve out your own unique space in broadcast history.
