Legendary punk rock manager and impresario Malcolm McLaren has died from mesothelioma at the age of 64.

During the late 1970's and early 1980's McLaren was the manager of such seminal punk and new wave acts as The Sex Pistols, New York Dolls, Adam and the Ants, and Bow Wow Wow.

He appeared in the 1980 Sex Pistols mockumentary "The Great Rock and Roll Swindle" performing a cover of British comedian Max Bygrave's novelty hit "You Need Hands", which appeared on the soundtrack album to the film.

McLaren recorded and released sixteen of his own albums from 1983-2009, many of which featured an eclectic mix of avant garde world music.
