Part Sci-Fi, part Broadway musical, part love story, and more, Divine Intervention is an excellent effort. Julia’s powerful vocals, complemented by her equally powerful lyrics make this a joy for the listener. Although the songs come from various inspirations, together they form their own story. With full instrumentation, the lyrics seemingly come alive. If you listen closely, you even hear the merry-go-round in the background of “One Man Magical Show”. Among my favorite tracks are “Ladyhawke!” ( remember the movie? ); “Crimson and Crystal” (“As she lays down beside each new lover she takes/She whispers their names and they never awake”); “Fallen Angel” and the finale “Roxanne”. Produced by Michael Moricz, “Divine Intervention” is a CD you’ll listen to again and again.
