IM: WHUSDJ
CURRENT SHOW
Mostly Acoustic

Join Jim Beaver & I this Saturday, May 8th as we bring you some great Bluegrass music LIVE from our WHUS studios.
First up, beginning about 10AM, we'll welcome a fine, traditional BG band from Nova Scotia's Annapolis Valley: the Spinney Brothers. Allan and Rick Spinney have won numerous music awards in eastern Canada, and sing together as only two brothers (born exactly one year apart) can. The Spinney Brothers band is rounded out by Gary Dalrymple on mandolin and Wendell Boutilier on bass. If you like what you hear in the studio -- and we're pretty sure you will -- be sure to catch the Spinneys live in the area this weekend: Saturday night at the Country Corner Coffee House in South Hadley, MA or at the Firebox Restaurant BG series in Hartford on Sunday at 5PM.
About 11AM, we'll welcome another top-notch guest, a Massachusetts native who now makes his home in Nashville, David Peterson. No matter what style of music he's singing (that is, BG or country), Dave sings in a very traditional style, and puts his heart and soul into it. This will be his second visit to WHUS, as he joined us in our old farmhouse studios back in November 2006. While you'll generally hear about Dave working with his BG band called 1946 or with his traditional country band known as the Old Time Country Review, this time around, it'll just be Dave and his guitar. No matter, though, as you're sure to be entertained.
The weather forecast for Saturday morning isn't the greatest, so what better way to perk up your weekend than by starting it off with some great LIVE music? Join us!
