Three times, each year, WHUS engages in the process of accepting, educating, and qualifying interested individuals in the world of college/community radio.

The Summer Training class will last approximately 9 weeks, starting with an informational meeting on Monday, 6/7 at 8PM in Castleman 212 (UCONN; Storrs Campus).  Each week, we'll meet for about an hour and a half for the class/lecture portion of the training.  After a week or so, we'll add weekly labs (i.e., technological training in our production studio).   The class itself will end with a final exam (don't worry... it's not that hard).

The culmination of the labs is a practical evaluation of your ability to work the equipment (again... it's not rocket science).

Once you've passed the final and have been cleared for the production studio, you're eligible to fill in for any of our regularly-scheduled DJs.

In mid-September, you can apply for a show of your own; but be aware that newly-minted trainees usually get the overnight shift.
