I'm the new Program Director at WHUS and this was my first time heading the committee that makes the schedule. It was a real learning experience. Things went well on the whole but I can see room for improvement. I'm excited about the opportunity to hear so many new people on the air. This is one of the most interesting times at a radio station like 'hus. We have ten new DJs on the air this week, new people finding their voices and reaching out to make a human connection.
The medium they will use to make that connection is audio, and it's a powerful and pervasive medium with a wonderful capacity for intimacy and communication. Audio can be with you in your car, at your work, in your home, etc. I get goosebumps listening to new producers experimenting with the medium.
