Acclaimed singer / songwriter Larry Jon Wilson, whose "flannel-warm baritone voice and deeply lyrical storytelling" characterized his performances, suffered a stroke and died on June 21,2010. He was 69.

He was a contemporary of Kris Kristofferson, who wrote: "He can break your heart with a voice like a cannonball". Larry Jon toured with Townes van Zant, and issued four albums, blending his storytelling with country, folk and soul.

Here's my favorite Larry Jon Wilson tune - "The Saints Who Have Never Been Caught"
