Are you aware that one of the best BG festivals in the entire USA happens in East Hartford every August?  If not, you need to make a point of getting to the 15th annual Podunk Bluegrass Music Festival, which will be held Thursday, August 5th through Sunday, August 8th.  This fine four-day event is held in easy-to-find Martin Park in East Hartford, and boasts a tremendous line-up of all types of BG music, from the more edgy sounds of the Earl Brothers to the super-traditional Bluegrass of David Davis & the Warrior River Boys.  In addition, there are great workshops for musicians (and those who might want to be musicians), a kids' academy, and band & songwriter contests.

The lineup (in alphabetical order):  Amy Gallatin & Stillwaters, Blackstone Valley Bluegrass, David Davis & the Warrior River Boys, the Earl Brothers, the Freight Hoppers, the Gibson Brothers, the Greencards, Hot Buttered Rum, James Reams & the Barnstormers, the Josh Williams Band, Katie Wilson & the Two Time String Band, Michael Cleveland & Flamekeeper, Next Best Thing, the Packway Handle Band, Rhonda Vincent & the Rage, and Southern Rail.  Saturday night's special headliner is none other than Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder.
