I must admit, shortly after I pressed play, I became a skeptic. From the 20 second mark until about 40 seconds (and in the backtracking for at least the entire first minute), all that came to mind was 8 bit for some cheesy cosmic Mattel racing game. Maybe it's the tightly edited synths that drew my attention further to something that was present before, but Neon Indian suddenly got a lot more 80's. But I soon forgot upon being entranced by the lulling repetition of the vocals, "In the morning this will all seem fake, so don't sleep." It reminds me of the dazed nodding of a crowd at a club at 5am. And I can definitely hear the DJ playing this song, and the people liking it. So I dare you, press play.
