They say that their musical direction is "not really clear at the moment," but if you like TitusAndronicus chances are you'll like their slightly more conservative fellow New Jersy-ians, Spook Houses. They released their 6 track album, Real Ghost/Pretend Ghosts, back in June, and have only recently come on my radar.

Lo-fi and dark these guys really like to play with your emotions. They start off with some raspy, almost defeated, male vocals and light guitar that draw you into that shadowy corner of your mind... and just when you're about to break down they start to add in some upbeat treble heavy guitar and group harmonies that together pull you back into the sunlight, and become incredibly addictive.

Some one really needs to pick these guys up soon, they have a very unique sound... something that's hard to come by these days.

Listen to my two favorite tracks below, and check out their Bandcamp for a free download!
